y/y
Year on year
The change against the same period a year earlier, which removes seasonal effects without statistical adjustment.
A year-on-year rate compares this month with the same month last year. It is the standard way to quote inflation and credit growth. Its drawback is that it reflects twelve months of history, so it turns later than a three-month or month-on-month rate.
